The Passage of a Few People Through a Rather Brief Moment in Time
One or more persons during a certain period drop their usual motives for movement and action, their relations, their work and leisure activities, and let themselves be drawn by the attractions of the terrain and the encounters they find there.
It’s a bike ride.
It meets every Wednesday at 8:30pm at California Donuts #21,
at the corner of 3rd & New Hampshire, in Los Angeles, CA.
We ride at 9pm.
We still endeavor to return before the last red line trains
(around midnight), but it rarely seems to happen anymore.
In celebration of our 200th ride, we are doing a series of four weekend Passage rides, which will take place on Saturdays during the day. Join our mailing list for the details of those.
For now, what you should know is that we will be taking the Metrolink out of town for these rides. A weekend pass for the Metrolink costs $10, and we will probably be taking trains that leave Union Station around 9AM and returning on trains that start their journey back around 5PM.
The rides themselves may be a little longer than the usual Passage Ride -- perhaps 35 or 40 miles -- and will progress at a slightly more leisurely pace, with stops for lunch and such. So there you have it. From May 22nd through June 15th, there are no rides on Wednesday. There *are* rides on Saturday. Take note.
